Elsie May Janney

Elsie May Janney, 88, of Rogers, AR formerly of Sedalia, MO died Friday December 15, 2023.

Elsie was born in Pilot Grove, MO on October 28, 1935, daughter of Philip Adam and Mary

Aleene Bergman. She was a 1953 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. Elsie was a

homemaker and worked for K-Mart in Sedalia for over 25 years. She enjoyed her years in

retirement watching westerns on tv, eating takeout, and socializing with her neighbors. Her family

was everything to her and she was always willing to share her opinions and wisdom.

Elsie is survived by son Eric (Stephanie) Janney of Rogers, AR and son in law Dennis VanBaale

of Cave Springs, AR. Grandchildren Kadence Janney, of Rogers, AR, Koleston Janney, of

Rogers, AR, and Adam VanBaale of New Braunfels, TX. One brother Donnie Bergman and one

sister Connie (Jane) Smith of Sedalia, MO, as well as many extended family members and

friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by daughter, Neala VanBaale, her parents, brothers Harold,

Charles and Earl Bergman, sisters Margie Reed and Betty Creager.

A visitation will be held at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO on Saturday December 23rd,

2023, beginning at 1pm with a graveside service to follow at 2:30pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in Elsie’s name.
