Efigenia Sandoval de Berganza

Efigenia Sandoval de Berganza, de 62 años, de Sedalia, falleció el miércoles 30 de septiembre de 2026 en su hogar, rodeada de su familia.

Nació el 15 de noviembre de 1963 en Santa Ana, El Salvador, hija de Felipe Sandoval y Amalia Margarita Batres.

Efigenia estuvo casada con Ismael Berganza, y juntos criaron a tres hijas. La familia era el centro de su vida. Disfrutaba de la jardinería, jugar a las cartas, cocinar y recibir en su hogar a familiares y amigos, cantar y pasar tiempo con las personas que amaba. Era el lazo que mantenía unida a su familia y siempre estaba pendiente de quienes la rodeaban. Muchos la consideraban como una madre por la manera en que recibía y cuidaba de los demás. A Efigenia también le encantaba bromear y hacer reír a los demás. Quería especialmente a su perra, Mocha.

Le sobreviven su esposo, Ismael; tres hijas, Johanna Gomez, Leticia Berganza y Jannet Berganza; cinco nietos, Emely, Alex, Ashley, Aubree y Enzo; y cuatro hermanos, Ana Irma, Angelito, Soyla y Regino.

Fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres y dos hermanos, Ines y Mario.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio para familiares y amigos de 1:00 a 4:00 p.m. el sábado 3 de octubre de 2026, en Heckart Funeral Home, 903 S. Ohio Ave., Sedalia, MO 65301.

Será sepultada en Texis, El Salvador.

Efigenia Sandoval de Berganza, 62, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 15, 1963, in Santa Ana, El Salvador, the daughter of Felipe Sandoval and Amalia Margarita Batres.

Efigenia was married to Ismael Berganza, and together they raised three daughters. Family was at the center of her life. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking and hosting family and friends, singing, and spending time with the people she loved. She was the glue that held her family together and was always caring for those around her. Many looked to her as a mother because of the way she welcomed and cared for them. Efigenia also loved to joke and make others laugh. She especially loved her dog, Mocha.

Surviving are her husband, Ismael; three daughters, Johanna Gomez, Leticia Berganza, and Jannet Berganza; five grandchildren, Emely, Alex, Ashley, Aubree, and Enzo; and four siblings, AnaIrma, Angelito, Soyla, and Regino.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Ines and Mario.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home, 903 S. Ohio Ave., Sedalia, MO 65301.

She will be buried in Texis, El Salvador.
