Dwight R. Miller

Dwight Richard Miller, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born November 15, 1946, in Sedalia, son of Ed and Agnes (Young) Miller.

Dwight was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve during the Vietnam War. He worked for 42 years as a route driver for Pepsi. He had a tree trimming and stump grinding business, D&D Tree Service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Laura Griffin, of Sedalia; nieces and nephews, Paul Baessler, Roger Miller, Kent Miller, John Miller, Joe Miller, Todd Griffin, Cynthia Reser, Lisa Scotten and Denise Swearingin; and his companion, Carolyn Rhoads.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael E. Miller; siblings, Tom Miller, David Miller, Marilyn Duzan and Loretta Baessler; and a nephew, Steve Emory.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Becky Imhauser officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Three Rivers Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
