Dorothy was born July 2, 1928 near Cole Camp, MO in the Cheese Creek Community to George E. Borchers and Mabel (Graff) Borchers who preceded her in death.
On June 8, 1946 she married Kenneth L. Steele who preceded her in death on November 12, 1999. On January 13, 2001 she married Robert E. Lee White, III who preceded her in death on February 18, 2017.
She graduated from Cole Camp High School Class of 1946. She was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church and past member of Sedalia Business and Professional Women. She was Secretary/Treasurer of Steele Construction, which she, Kenneth and their sons operated for many years in Sedalia.
Surviving her are a daughter, Janice (Mike) Kennedy of Belton, sons, Dwayne (Donna) of Osage Beach and Dennis (Kelly) of Sedalia. Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Kastl, Vancouver, WA, and Ina Rash, Glenwood Springs, CO and one brother, Elroy Borchers, Cole Camp, MO
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Sacred Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church or Crossroads Hospice, Warrensburg, MO.
