Dorothy Faye Clark, daughter, sister, wife, mother, maw maw, and nurse, passed away in her home in Sedalia, Missouri at the age of 52.
Dorothy leaves behind father and mother Jim and Christine Perry as well as siblings, Angie Todd, Bradley Dillon, Sandra Ross, Amanda Perry-Caballero, and Patrick Perry who will miss her terribly. She is preceded in death by her grandma Helen Bradshaw, sister Tammy Perry, and husband John Clark.
She was born October 26, 1973 in Sedalia, Missouri. However, Dorothy spent most of her life in north Texas, where she met her late husband, John Clark, and raised her three children: Brittney Klein, Jacob Clark, and Emily Peterson. Dorothy was “maw maw” to grandbabies Kolt, Kami, Dottie, and expected baby Karsten Alana. She also answered to “Lucky Dotty” by her daughter-in-law because she always won in board games. In addition to caring for all of her babies, grandbabies, and bonus children, she cared for her community as a nurse for 30 years.
When her kids were asked what they want their mama to be remembered for, they answered “everything” with conviction and tears. Her oldest daughter said, “She was the strongest person I knew.” Her only boy shared, “She was a woman worth naming my daughter after.” And her youngest daughter was sure to say, “She sparkled.” They then spoke in a round robin, pouring out their affection with words like selfless, caring, passionate, and loving. And finally, they wrapped it up with, “She was a woman who loved and feared the Lord.”
Dorothy’s celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 11, at the Sedalia Moose Lodge at 119 Winchester Dr, Sedalia, MO 65301 from 1-4 pm. Please come with lots of hugs and Dorothy stories.
