Donald L. Hofstetter

Donald L. Hofstetter, 74, of Gravois Mills, formerly of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

Born March 18, 1946, in Tipton, he was the oldest of two children of Ivan James and Arleen (Dick) Hofstetter.

Don grew up in Tipton and was a 1964 graduate of Tipton High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967 and served four years of active duty during the Vietnam War, followed by 25 years with the Air Force Reserves.

On March 9, 1968, at the Tipton United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue (Drake). This union was blessed with two daughters.

Don lived most of his life in Tipton before retiring in December 2007. He started the Sears catalog store in Tipton and completed his career as the agent/owner of Ozark Regional Insurance.

He enjoyed golfing, his time on the lake, watching his grandkids play sports and listening to music. He was a loving man and was dedicated to anything he put an effort toward and enjoyed making flag boxes for Veterans.

He was a longtime member of Tipton United Methodist Church. Since moving to the lake in 2016, he was a member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Connie, of the home; two daughters, Tina Brant (George), of Tipton, and Kristy Campbell (Shawn), of Cole Camp; five grandchildren, Jeremy Brant, Riley Brant, Alyson Brant, Sydney Campbell and Ashley Campbell; and a brother, Bill Hofstetter (Barbara), of Gladstone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, with Rev. Tim Lee officiating. Full military honors will be conducted.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Ozark Chapel UMC, Community for Christ, or Tipton UMC.

Masks will be required at the visitation and services.
