Dianna Lynn Waterfield

Dianna Lynn Waterfield, 68, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026.

She was born March 23, 1958, in Sacramento, CA, the daughter of the late Donald W. and Della L. (Schrader) Waterfield.

Diana grew up in a military family and had the opportunity to live in and experience several places throughout her life, including California, Michigan, England, and France.

Diana was truly one of a kind. She was adored and loved by so many people, and she brought so much life, joy, and meaning into the lives of the staff of CHS who had the privilege of caring for her. She will always be remembered for her sweet vocalizations, her spiciness, and the little ways she communicated with her caregivers. She enjoyed watching baseball games, listening to the birds, and fishing her rope across the counter. There were moments when she would reach out and hold hands. These may seem like simple moments, but to those who knew Diana, they were moments that meant everything.

Diana had a way of bringing people together and creating memories without ever having to say a word. Her presence was felt, her personality was known, and her life touched so many hearts.

It is difficult to say goodbye to someone who became such an important part of her caregivers. Her presence, her familiar sounds, her routines, and all the little things that made Diana who she was will be missed.

Diana, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life. Thank you for every smile, every vocalization, every hand you reached for, and every memory you gave us. You were deeply loved, you were truly adored, and you will never be forgotten. Rest peacefully, Diana. Your memory will live on in all of the hearts you touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald W. Waterfield, Jr., and her sister, Dixie L. Tshappat.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Heckart Funeral Home.

Private burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
