Dennis S. Eding

Dennis Steve Eding, 72, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Born May 16, 1949 in Sedalia, he was one of two children of Chester O. and Dorothy D. (Berger) Eding. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1967 and the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1971 with a degree in business. On April 12, 1975, in Maryville, MO, he was united in marriage to Carla (Quinn).

Dennis was the operations manager of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and later the Warehouse Manager of the distribution facility in Sedalia, prior to his retirement. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He served for many years on the board of directors of the Children’s Therapy Center, now the Center for Human Services, taking particular pride in the annual golf tournament fundraiser.

He enjoyed playing golf, traveling and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, his love of MIZZOU sports and his tailgating skills.

Surviving are his wife, Carla, of the home, his mother, Dorothy Eding of Sedalia and a sister, Marsha Eding of Excelsior, MN. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Eding.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating. Following the graveside service, a celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at the Sedalia Country Club.

Friends may sign the guest book from 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home.
