Dennis D. Johnson, 78, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Fair View Health Care Center.
He was born March 12, 1948, in Sedalia, a son of the late Carl Leroy and Mary Lou (Hasfurther) Johnson. On April 18, 1966, in Sedalia, he married Wanda Marie Brown, who survives of the home. Together they shared 60 years of marriage.
Dennis worked as maintenance supervisor for the Jefferson City Public School system and was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Rod and Gun Club. Dennis especially enjoyed skeet shooting and competitive shooting, earning many trophies through the years. He also found satisfaction in restoring antique furniture. Above all else, his faith was central to his life, and he was most passionate about preaching about Jehovah God’s Kingdom.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, survivors include three daughters, Melody Schader (Eddie), Vanessa Bryant, and Laveda Hrezik; two siblings, Leroy Johnson (Janet) and Linda Booyer; and two grandchildren, Alexa Mathis and Ezekiel Mathis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Bessie Hasfurther; and a brother, Oscar Johnson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 22, 2026 at Union Cemetery, Florence, with Anthony Garcia officiating.
