David Donald Dalgarn
David Donald Dalgarn was born in May of 1959 to his parents Paul and Gwenith Dalgarn in Rock Springs, WY. He passed away January 19, 2023 peacefully at his home in Sedalia, MO. He was 63 years old.
He spent his youth in Rock River, WY where he graduated high school in 1977. He briefly attended college but, never returned after getting a summer job with the Union Pacific Railroad. He continued working for the U.P. traveling the western states while working different crews. During times of economic downturns for the railroad he would work ranches near his hometown. In the early 1990s he made the move to Sedalia, MO, with a group of coworkers and friends when the U.P. moved the bulk of signal and switchbox maintenance to the Shop there. He made Sedalia his home and try as we might we could never coax him back to WY.
He was good with animals having grownup caring for the small menagerie of animals that sustained his family, as well as competing livestock for 4-H Club. He had grown up enjoying all the outdoor recreations small town WY had to offer fishing, hunting, camping, racing full speed across the prairie at night chasing jackrabbits. He discovered his favorite mode of transportation and recreation as a teenager, his motorcycle.
In Sedalia, he found a large group of friends who shared his interests; motorcycles, playing pool, bowling, shuffleboard, and shooting the breeze and telling stories while sharing a beer. He was a well-loved good friend always ready to lend a helping hand, a supportive hug or a laugh. He was member of the Sedalia Elks Lodge #125. He was Sergeant of Arms for the Sedalia Full Circle Motorcycle Association, and a member of the Freedom of the Road Riders local 33. He never had children of his own but was much loved by children of his friends, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
David is survived by his brother Gerald Dalgarn of Rock River, WY; brother Jim Dalgarn (Nyla) of Laramie, WY; sister Theresa Bachmeier (Marc) of Eckert, CO; brother Edward Dalgarn of Douglas, WY; nephew Justin Boschee (Becky) of WY & 7 great nephews/nieces; niece Amber Beasley (Nathan) of CO; nephew Joshua Bachmeier (Briana) of WA & great nephew Landon; nephew Caleb Thompson (Alissa) of WY & great niece Em’Mariah & great nephew Jaxtyn; niece Cassidy Thompson of WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Gwenith Dalgarn, and nephew, Danny Boschee.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Sedalia Elks Lodge #125. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Elks Lodge #125. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
