Connie M. Stafford

Connie M. Stafford, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born October 28, 1954, in Kansas, the daughter of the late Ezra and Arlene (Pettit) Church.

Connie dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a certified nurse’s assistant for many years. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved being outdoors, whether it was gardening, mowing, or doing yardwork. Hummingbirds brought her happiness, and she enjoyed feeding and watching them daily. Her beloved dog, Dobby, was always by her side.

She also enjoyed browsing garage sales and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Most of all, Connie cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought joy to her days.

Survivors include two daughters, Leanna Wyrick (Greg, Sr.) of Sedalia, and Elizabeth Cleaver of Cole Camp; one sister, Ruth Stratton of Kansas; four grandchildren, Gregory Wyrick, Jr. (Kortney) of Cole Camp, Zara Hoover (Raymond) of Sedalia, Joshua Wyrick (Aubrey) of Knob Noster, and Andrew Swafford of Cole Camp; ten great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Pat Higgins of Cole Camp.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her soulmate, Ronald Swafford; and an infant son, James Ezra Swafford.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
