Cheryl L. Curry

Cheryl Lynn Curry, 60, of Clifton City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at her home.

She was born December 7, 1964, in Sedalia, the daughter of Cecil G. and Frances M. (Shoemaker) Lappat. On November 24, 1984, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Fredrick T. Curry.

Cheryl devoted her life to her family. She had a loving, nurturing spirit and found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother. Family gatherings were special to her, but her happiest moments were spent caring for her children and grandchildren, who were truly the center of her world. Outside of her family, she enjoyed tending to her flowers, playing the lottery, and the occasional trip to the casino.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Fredrick, of the home; four children, Dustin Lappat (Tara) of Otterville, Cierra Wright (Ryan) of Otterville, Landria Curry of Clifton City, and Ambereal Davis (Austin) of Cole Camp; a stepson, Freddy Curry of Sedalia; nine beloved grandchildren, Bryce, Evan, Xavier, Nikolas, Ronan, Remington, Malaki, Whitney, and Michael; and one brother, Jerry Lappat.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Mark, Kerry, and Jimmy Lappat.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Providence Baptist Cemetery.
