Charles H. Cline, 85, of Sedalia, died Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
He was born May 23, 1940, at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. A son of C. W. (Wherley) and Gladys Burford Cline of Otterville. He grew up on a farm there and was educated in the Otterville School System.
He was married to Judy M. Hansen January 6, 1963, at Otterville Baptist Church. On October 14th, 2000, in Hot Springs Arkansas, he was married to Della M. Cornett who survives of the home.
Mr. Cline was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served on the Board of Trustees for two terms and was an usher for many years. He was past master of Sedalia Masonic Lodge #236. A 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Ararat Shrine. He also was a member of the V. F. W. Post #2591 and American Legion Post #1000.
He volunteered for the draft in 1961 and was inducted into the Army in July of that year. He was a member of the 1st infantry Division 12th infantry and spent most of his time in Berlin, Germany attached to the Berlin Brigade, during the building of the Berlin Wall. He was discharged in July 1963, receiving the European Occupation Medal, the Expeditionary Medal, Sharpshooter and Good Conduct Medals.
Mr. Cline spent 30 years working for the US Government Civil Service at Whiteman AFB. He retired in July 1994 as a Supervisor of the Paint Department.
He loved his wife, family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and their little dogs Sadie and Molly very much. He and his wife Della loved to go to Arkansas, take cruises, spend time in Texas, California, Cayman Islands, and Branson Missouri.
He was a certified open water Scuba Diver and an avid wood carver. He also loved meeting with his coffee friends at McDonalds.
Surviving are his wife Della; two daughters Cynthia Cline-Peck (Steve); two granddaughters Bailey Smith and Taylor Boccaccio (Josh) and two step-grandsons Justin and Chad Peck; daughter Catherine Jane Rutkowski (Trey); granddaughter, Ashley Marie Cheek (Ryan), grandson Zachary McBurney; great-grandchildren, R. J. Cheek and Aurora Cheek and one great-grandchild on the way; step-daughter Pamela Cornett and step-granddaughter Charlene Cooley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Cline; and one sister, Anita Borchardt.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the First United Methodist Church on Thompson Blvd. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with Rev. Candace Fowler officiating, and full Military Honors provided by V.F.W. Post 2591 and the United States Army. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Thompson Blvd. or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
