Caren Bernice Klein

Caren Bernice Klein, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born August 29, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Norman C. and Betty (Bobbitt) Worthley.

Caren graduated from Stover High School in May 1968. On May 25, 1968, she married Billy Ray Klein at Florence United Methodist Church. They shared 47 years of marriage until his death on December 19, 2013.

For 14 years, Caren and Bill owned and operated Kansas City - Sedalia Express, a successful freight company. She later worked for Clarkson Construction Company, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Sedalia Moose Club and enjoyed dancing. Caren was also a member of Florence United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, BJ Klein (Gina), of Smithton; two brothers, Walt Worthley, of Stover, and Ron Worthley (Penny), of Columbia; two grandchildren, Britney Trotter (Heath) and Brandon Stuart, all of Sedalia; and one great-granddaughter, Marissa Foster, of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Cochran; sister-in-law, Vickie Worthley; and friend, Jim Randell.

According to her wishes, no services are planned. Burial will be in Florence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
