Brent Cloud

November 27, 1965 — December 5, 2025

Green Ridge

William Brently “Brent” Cloud, 60, of Green Ridge, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2025, on the family farm.

He was born November 27, 1965, in Sedalia, the son of William Larry Cloud and Carolynn A. (Nelson) Becker.

Brent was a 1984 graduate of Green Ridge High School and earned a degree in agriculture from State Fair Community College. He served six years in the National Guard.

On November 21, 1987, at Camp Branch Baptist Church near Green Ridge, he was united in marriage to Lisa M. Fluty.

Brent was a lifelong farmer, working with his father to raise chickens, hogs, and row crops. He also owned and operated a gravel business. He enjoyed hunting and being a hunting guide, taking particular interest in mentoring young boys in the outdoors. His other hobbies included fishing, motorcycles, antique muscle cars, RV-ing, camping, diving, and traveling. He was also musically talented.

Brent will be remembered as a devoted husband and father with a steady, encouraging presence. He was known for being kind, caring, compassionate, a good listener, and a practical problem solver.

He was a member and Elder of Katy Park Baptist Church, where he taught youth and adult Sunday school. He was a steady, reliable leader who led with gentleness, humility, and authenticity. Though his passing was sudden and unexpected, his family finds comfort in knowing he lived a life of purpose and is now with his Lord and Savior, and that God’s plan for him is complete.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Lisa, of the home; two children, Hayden Cloud (Angela), of Green Ridge, and Erin Cloud, of Springfield; his bonus son, Joel Blosser (Alexis), of Hugoton, KS; his mother, Carolynn Becker (Thomas), of Sedalia; his father, Larry Cloud, of Green Ridge; his sister, Dana Gould (Dan), of Leawood, KS; a niece, three nephews, and seven great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Sedalia, with Rev. Jon Church and Rev. Rob Ayers officiating.

Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Katy Park Baptist Church or the American Heart Association, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
