Brenda G Collins, of Sedalia, Missouri, died Monday, January 8, 2024 at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehab Center. Brenda was born July 26, 1951 to Betty McElroy Yadon and Lee Seiver in Salem, Illinois. On September 29, 1984 in Sedan, Kansas she married the late Alex T Collins. 

Brenda grew up a portion of her life in both Indiana and Illinois. She graduated in 1969 from Calumet High School in Gary, Indiana. After working in restaurants Brenda set goals of becoming a registered nurse. While working as a nurse’s aide, she attended St. John's College for nursing, and graduated with her degree in nursing. Brenda had a servant’s heart, as well as a born leader. Brenda worked at hospitals in Kansas, California, Indiana, and Missouri as a floor manager, charge nurse, house nurse and shift manager, retiring nine years ago from Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri.  One of Brenda's greatest joys was to see young people she helped train become caregivers. 

Brenda is survived by her sister, Becky Holland of Sedan, Kansas; brothers, Randy (Tammy) Holland of Anderson, Indiana, Ronnie (Mary Ellen) Holland of Hobart, Indiana, Timmy Yadon of Dearing, Oklahoma, David (Jane) Seiver of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews and Great Nieces.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her soul mate Alex T Collins on November 11, 2023; her mother and father in law; her grandparents; brothers, Billy C Holland Jr, and Jimmy Holland; and one sister, Eula Faye.

Cremation has taken place. Brenda and Alex will be taken to Indiana for burial.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
