Betty J. Pospisil
Betty J. Pospisil, 88, of Sedalia, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
She was born November 19, 1932, in Irwin, IA, a daughter of the late Nels and Lydia (Thygesen) Hansen. On June 15, 1957, in Omaha, NE, she married Alvin A. Pospisil, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2009.
She was baptized in 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE.
Betty was a housewife and mother. She worked for a time at Archais Seed Store.
She was a member of the Garden Club and took painting classes. She enjoyed flower gardening, flower arranging, painting, Bingo and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed spending time and boating at their lake house.
Survivors include three children: David Pospisil (Claire), of Sedalia, Mark Pospisil (Linda), of Mora and Lisa Bledsoe (Raymond), of Boonville; three sisters: Jean Freestone, of Arizona, JoAnn Mitchell (Daryl) and Susan Gessert (Donnie), all of Iowa; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Duane Duchesne officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Show Me Christian Youth Home in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
