Betty Mae Borchardt, 92, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.
She was born July 8, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of the late Richard Q. and Phoebe (Lowther) Turner. She married Dennis Parkin in Salt Lake City, UH, and to this union were born four children, Karen, Sharon, Sue and Linda. After they divorced, she moved to California. She met and later married Dan Borchardt, who preceded her in death.
Betty worked for Albert and James Photography Studio in California. After she retired, she moved to Sedalia. She enjoyed Senior Swim, reading biographies, crafts, and listening to country music and Charlie Thomas on KDRO.
She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be remembered as the best friend anyone could ask for and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include three daughters Linda Parkin Altis, of Sedalia, Karen Porter, of Sedalia, and Sharon Anglin, of Bakersfield, CA; a son, Jon Ferguson, of Long Beach, CA; a sister, Margie Campbell, of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Clint, Kimmy, Sarah, Katie and Jeremy; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sammy, Levi, Tristen, Skylar and Jeremy, Jr; and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Parkin; five siblings, Muriel, Bud, Helen, Burt, and Carol; and two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Jarone.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held in California at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
