Barbara A. Brooks

Barbara Ann Brooks, 73, of Boonville, Missouri, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed Monday afternoon, December 10, 2018 at the Riverdell Care Center in Boonville, Missouri.

She was born on November 11, 1945, in Houston, Texas, daughter of Peyton Alton and Verla Marie Chapin Stubblefield.  She married Alton Ray Williams who died in 1983.  On December 3, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Ronald Brooks who died April 11, 2017.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1022, in Boonville, Missouri. She was an entertainer and fantastic storyteller.  Barbara Ann was a social butterfly, she genuinely loved people, and would light up any room when she walked in.   Barbara Ann would say the best part of her life was her big family and the friends she made as she travelled across the world.  In her last years she enjoyed cooking, especially in any kind of cookoff, and taking care of anyone who would let her.  She moved from Texas to Missouri to be closer to all four of her children, and Ron Brooks family.  However, she found a second family in the Eagles organization

Survivors include her son Billy Ray Todd, Boonville, MO; three daughters, Dawn Smith and husband, Robert “Skip”, Sedalia, MO; Tammy Rounsavall and partner Melissa Kelpe, Hallsville, MO; Dena Welch and husband, William “Bill”, Boonville, MO; two brothers John Randall Stubblefield and husband, Robert Josef Cross, Austin, Texas; Michael Alton Stubblefield, Colorado;  two sisters, Glenda Faye Dewbre, Pasadena, Texas; Patricia Lynn Ferguson, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jaymi Wells and husband Wesley, Sedalia, MO; Jacob McMullin and wife Natashia, Smithton, MO; Ryan Rounsavall, Nathan Rounsavall, Shana Rounsavall, Natalie Parker and Bella-Sky Parker all of Hallsville, MO; two great grandchildren, Dakota Wells and David McMullin.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Rounsavall, two sisters, Sharon Kay Sharpe and Diana Marie Stahl and a great granddaughter Alivia McMullin.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Friday at the Howard Funeral Home in Boonville, Missouri with services at 7 pm.

Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, The Woodlands, Texas.

The family suggests contributions to the Eagles Lodge 1022, Boonville, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia, Missouri.
