Alice M. Morris

Alice M. Morris, 91, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 comfortably in her bed.

She was born April 26, 1928 in Lake Andes, SD, a daughter of Charles Emanuel and Josephine (Dolejsi) Stedronsky.  On October 9

th

, 1965 in Belton, MO she married Willard Sheperd Morris who preceded her in death on September 16, 1966.

Alice worked as a bondsman for many years at Bradshaw Bonding and then after Willard’s death as a Vision Tester for the Department of Revenue.  She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary 2591.  Alice was a member of the General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Sedalia Women of the Moose Chapter 1242, Pettis County Women’s Democratic Club, and the Women’s International Bowling Congress.  She was an avid bowler all her adult life traveling to many state and national tournaments.

Survivors include one son, David Charles Morris of Lee’s Summit; two daughters, Beverly Anne Stanmorr (Sarah) of Kansas City, MO, Linda Sue Wells (Lance) of Sedalia, MO; three grandchildren, Heather Mudd, Holly Johnson, Christopher Morris; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Stedronsky, of Oregon; one sister, Elaine Wood, of Texas; one sister-in-law, Lois Stedronsky, of Nebraska.

In addition to both of her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Raymond, Robert and Russell Stedronsky; one sister, Josephine Gerken.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Lance Wells, A.J. Johnson, Paul Wood, Bruce Stedronsky, Christopher Morris, and Mike Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
