Linda S. Turner

Linda S. Turner, 80, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at her home.

She was born December 8, 1940, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late Howard and Nona (Broaddus) Turner.

After a long career with the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta, GA, Linda moved to her parent’s home in rural Pettis County. While in Sedalia, she owned and operated Nona’s Nostalgias and was a long-time director of the Pettis County Chapter of United Way.

She loved gardening, traveling with her kids, spoiling her grandkids, and spending time with her friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Bell (Thad) and Kathryn Branigan (Jim), all of Atlanta; four grandchildren, David, Katy, Thomas and Michael; and one great-grandchild, Theo.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to United Way in care of Heckart Funeral Home.

  2. So sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. We were such good friends in highschool, I loved going to her folks farm and spending the weekend. I had a horse at another farm near her, and we would saddle up and ride all day long.
I remember when she was an exchange student in Germany (I think it was Germany), and we shopped together to get her the “right” clothes. She loved Esther Williams and had her movie pictures up on her walls.
A wonderfully talented and smart gal. I know her family will miss her greatly.

  3. Linda was such an amazing lady. I spent many hours working with/for her on everything from yard work to minor home repairs. I loved being her neighbor and always enjoyed her company.
She was an outstanding person and I know will be deeply missed by all whom knew her.

I pray for peace and comfort for her family during this difficult time.

  4. Linda’s brother, Howard Turner, Jr in West Des Moines, Iowa and his family send their condolences.
