In Loving Memory…

Jack E. Williams

Jack E. Williams, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Jack was a biology instructor and director of the science and math department at State Fair Community College for thirty years. He earned a Masters degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Jack was a very caring and loyal man, and was always there to help his family and friends. He was a skilled woodworker and especially enjoyed building furniture. He had also built a timber frame workshop all by hand. His other hobbies were landscaping, gardening, hunting, fishing, anything outside, and studying Japanese swords. He was currently re-learning to play the banjo. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

Jack was an active member of First United Methodist Church and had a special love for the downtown location and the building of the new church.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy, of the home; a stepdaughter, Kim Ross (Heather), of Sedalia; two grandsons, Bryce Paxton and Aiden Palmer; mother-in-law, Beth Palmer, of Sedalia; two brothers-in-law, Bruce Palmer (Pat), of Sedalia, and Tom Palmer, of Sedalia; three step-brothers, Jerry Williams (Yo), of San Antonio, Jim Williams (Maxine), of Lake of the Ozarks, and Morris Williams, of Cole Camp; nieces Jessica Crecelius (Cory), and Haley Klassing (Ryan), and several other nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, with Pastor Jim Downing officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the church.
