Ivan D. Laster, Jr.

Ivan Dale Laster, Jr., 47, of Sedalia, died Monday, June 21, 2021.

He was born December 17, 1973, in Waverly, son of Ivan Dale Sr. and Janis (Toliver) Laster.

Ivan attended Smith-Cotton High School. He worked in maintenance at Stanley Black and Decker.

He loved to barbecue and shoot guns. Ivan was friendly to everybody and liked to joke around. He knew a little bit about everything and liked to brag that he was a fountain of useless knowledge.

Ivan had been baptized in the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his mother, Janis Laster, of Sedalia; six children, Brian, Micheal, Jesse, Nicholas, Katelyn and Richard β€œRJ” Laster, all of Sedalia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Travis Laster.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Marshall, MO.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.

    He was always a riot to work with. Never knew a stranger and always had a joke ready. Our deepest condolences to his entire family.

He will so be missed by many and always will be remembered as a faithful friend, who would do anything he could for those he cared about and for his lack of hatred to others. He never wanted attention and I am sure will be looking over his loved ones like he always did.
