In Loving Memory…

Carl L. Diefenderfer

Carl Lee Diefenderfer, 89, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

He was born November 10, 1929, in Golden City, son of Carl Odell and Lily Mae (Divine) Diefenderfer.

On June 21, 1959, in Warrensburg, he married Karen Ann (Jaeger), who survives of the home.

Carl served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas as a finance officer.

In his younger years, Carl worked for Canteen Company of America. Then for 45 years he owned and operated Carl’s Automotive. He loved cars, drag racing, and taking meticulous care of his yard.

Carl was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

He will be remembered for his quiet, gentle nature and for being an honest and loyal man.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Karen, he is survived by two daughters, Sarah Huechteman (husband, Randy), of McKinney, TX, and Jennifer Walsh (husband, Michael), of Alamo, CA; and three grandchildren, Emily Huechteman, Andrew Huechteman (wife, Courtney), and Carly Walsh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Trula Jane Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Heckart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Randy Huechteman, Michael Walsh, Andrew Huechteman, Eric Jaeger, Karl Jaeger and Robert Engles.

Burial with military honors will be in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Sedalia Animal Shelter.
