In Loving Memory…

Gilbert R. Campbell

Gilbert Ray Campbell, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City,

He was born on January 12, 1933, in the Green Ridge area, the son of Stirley Ray Campbell and Mabel Louise Butcher Campbell.

On December 1, 1962, in St. Joe, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Emma Dell Huskey.

Gil worked for 35 years at Bill Greer Ford, many of those years as sales manager. Selling was his passion. He gained many friends over the years with his ability to visit with anyone. He was very much a people person. He will be remembered as caring, fun loving, the life of the party, and for his laugh.

Gil was a member of the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club and was formerly a member of the Moose Lodge and the Shriners. He enjoyed life in general, but some of the things that brought him the greatest joy were fishing, hunting, playing cards, motorcycle riding, boating, archery, spending time at the lake, and watching bird dogs work. He also loved beating his grandkids at Monopoly.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Emma, he is survived by three daughters, Carla Sue Henderson, of Otterville, Marla Gay Franklin, of Sedalia, and Lauren Alice Kennedy, of Liberty; eight grandchildren, Bryon Henderson (Casey), Brad Henderson (Valarie), Clint Henderson (Leslie), Chris Franklin (Michelle), Greg Franklin (Mayra), Kevin Franklin (Laura), Jacqueline Kennedy, and Sierra Kennedy; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Erma Alderman, of Sedalia; and a brother, William Campbell, of Green Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Emma Lea Marie Franklin and Lucas Allen Franklin.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with Gene Huskey, Doug Huskey, Jimmy Dale Huskey and Wayne Isgriggs officiating.

Casket bearers will be his grandsons.

Honorary bearers will be Steve Ritzo, Steve Pritzel, John Kozak, Greg Coufal, Bob Ramey and Ben Vanderlinden.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Center for Human Services.
